Michael Lepore was my uncle. I was only 11 years old on 9/11, but his memory has been engrained in my heart, and in the hearts of the many people who loved him. He was a kind and caring person who filled every room he was in with joy and laughter. I will never forget his smile, his laugh, and the delicious meals he loved to cook for the family. There are no words to describe the magnitude of his loss to our family. However, I read through tributes made to him every year around this time, and I’m comforted to know that he is honored and remembered. He lives on through all of us.

Today is the 25th anniversary. I saw 9/11 through a child’s eyes and some innocence was stolen that day, but I remember it vividly. Fast forward to today, I’m 35 years old. At Healing Field I read names of port authority police and others in the towers to honor them. While I was reading your name a plane flew directly overhead. I got chills and I paused for a moment of silence.
I’d like to think it was a sign.. maybe a “thank you” or “or hey I’m at peace.” I came home and read your obituary. Your love of gardening and desire to host family and friends what in sounds like a beautiful home was refreshing. I am so sorry that was stolen from you and your family so callously.
I may not know all of the names but I will never forget Micheal Lepore.

I didn't know Michael. I found this site accidently and have spent the last few days reading the tributes left here for all those brave souls lost on 9/11. Micheal is one of the few that have no info or tributes, which seemed heartbreaking. I'm sure you had family, friends, and collegues that cared for you. Michael, please know that millions of Americans remember; you will not be forgotten. I hope that you rest in peace.
